This is
one of three identical models of the "Visible Cow" that were built for
Agriculture Canada and the University of Winnipeg. In painting the model,
the proper colours of the internal organs were obtained by visiting
a slaughterhouse and photographing the actual parts of a real cow! We stop
at nothing to do accurate research here at Small Art Works! The left lung
and left half of the heart were left off and pinned to the wooden base
for greater clarity and easier viewing of the interior details. The cow
measures about 14 inches from nose to tail.
